Current Characters: Daiki Kaitou, (Pending) Beet J Stag
Character: Hibiki Hojo
Fandom: Suite Precure, Part of the Precure Metacanon
Character Notes: A portion of this application has been taken from previous apps for the sake of less work.
History: As the title character of Suite Pretty Cure along with the character Kanade Minamino, Hibiki Hojo spends most of her time in conflict with Kanade for one reason or another. The pair were childhood friends until a moment of misinformation separated the pair for about a year of junior high. Around the beginning of the second year of junior high, the pair were forced together as Pretty Cure. As part of an initial duo, Hibiki was Cure Melody, in comparison to Cure Rhythm, Kanade's alter ego. The pair were meant to fight the people from Minor Land, who were collecting the notes from the Legendary Score which when rearranged and sung, could plunge the world into despair.
The pair interact with their family and friends over time, learning about one another as if starting over again despite Seiren trying to break the pair up repeatedly. Hibiki is convinced to start playing the piano as a duo with Kanade, and it affected her love for music once she learned what her father meant by his seemingly harsh words years ago. It is here that they also meet the fairy Hummy, who has a best friend in their opponent Seiren. The group clash numerous times, gaining power ups and learning of the existence of Black Cure Muse, who seems to not be on anyone's side but her own.
The fighting reaches a minor peak when the enemies kidnap all the fairy tones and steal all the notes. The enemy tries to sing the song of sorrow, but it was due to Hummy having faith in her friend Seiren that Seiren who had previously tried to heel-face-turn was brought to the side of good. Becoming trapped in the from of Ellen Kurokawa, Seiren adapted the name of Ellen and joins as the third Precure, Cure Beat.
The fighting goes through another swing of slow and fast moments as they gather more notes as well as a magical box containing Crescendo Tone, and after being forced into a corner, Mephisto attacks the Precure directly, only to be stopped by Cure Muse who reveals herself to be a young girl in yellow. This girl was Ako, princess of Major Land and a long-time friend of theirs in civilian form. She was trying to save her father, and had become a Precure well before Hibiki and Kanade did. But in the end, the group manages to purify Mephisto. And not a moment too soon, as Falsetto assumes control of the group, and starts a campaign to bring about the advent of a being called Noise.
Sometime during this reunion, Ako is meant to head back home to Major Land now that her family is reunited, but a minion of Noise has taken over Major Land, and Aphrodite imprisoned him into her body. A battle over Major Land happens, as they battle against him and defeat him with the help of Hibiki's Super Form. Ako remains in the Human World with her grandfather despite this.
With all of the notes gathered, the final battle is at hand. Despite this, and Mephisto's heroic sacrifice to prevent Noise from fully awakening, Noise is revived, and begins his campaign to stop all music in the world, by turning everyone to stone. Using the old church and pipe organ, they clear a path to Major Land where the girls fight against him, almost losing their powers as well as access to Crescendo Tone. However, they manage to defeat him, by accepting his existence. And at the end of it, humanity is restored to normal and the girls have a new mascot again, Pii-chan, Noise's purified form.
Two other major events should be noted, as Precure DX3 happens early in the series although is optional for the players of DDD to do, due to it being a giant Precure Crossover. DX3 focuses on a group of enemies returning by Black Hole's power to defeat them, and destroy the Prism Flower which connects the worlds together. In the end, the Prism Flower is destroyed, but regrows on the anchor point, which is the Great Heart Tree hovering over earth.
The second is Pretty Cure All Stars New Stage which happens during the early days of Smile Precure, where the enemy Fusion makes a return and with the help of Ayumi, a girl who befriended Fusion, the group manages to get her to their opponent and made him stop resetting the world for her. Both of these events can be played out in DDD and isn't strictly part of the timeline, but is considered a huge part of the Greater Toei Multiverse.
Personality: Hibiki's personality can be best defined by her friendship with Kanade and her relationship with other people in her life. She is very outgoing and enjoys spending time with her friends, as well as eating food of all types, and playing sports. Her athletic ability has caused her to earn many admirers throughout her first year at Kanon's Junior High, and her energy level has always given her the chance to move forward in life. When faced with a difficult challenge, she often goes all out and "stakes her honor as a woman" on the outcome, and has little to back down from when the going gets tough.
However she is also very flawed as a character, such as being poor in academics of all kinds save for gym class, unable to cook properly which seems to be a family trait, gluttony, particularly for sweets and cakes, and initially a strong dislike for music. She also jumps to conclusions and has little ability to see the meaning behind any words that seem harsh at first. Being dependant on Kanade as well affects her personality, as they fought for most of the first year of their schooling due to a misunderstanding. She has a hard time letting go of things that were done wrong to her, but at the same time she also has a hard time admitting she was wrong as well.
In contrast to Kanade who is more high strung, Hibiki is very easy going. She is often trying to find the easy way out, and isn't adverse to using a shortcut when things get tough. Her relaxed stance on everything other than food and sports causes conflict with other people who observe her as a lazy slacker. Her academic score in the dumps, Hibiki gets immediately defensive when her flaws are pointed out, and then retreats in a very tsundere manner.
During the progression of the series, Hibiki also demonstrates rapid forgiveness for many people, including Ellen who was once their enemy. Even when disagreeing with Hummy that Ellen has changed this much to swap sides, she quickly warms up. Show her a hint of kindness and you are her friend for life. She is quick to judge, but also very quick to change her tone and find the goodness within. Like most Precure, when riled up, a yell of "Unforgivable!" usually prefaces violence, and Hibiki rushes in first to deliver the first blow, taking the lead. Often she forgets about teamwork when she's getting excited about something, but usually there's someone to reign her in when she goes all out.
Not overly concerned with anything other than sports, cake and having fun with friends, Hibiki hasn't demonstrated any attraction to guys, but is able to support her friends during moments when they're making fools of themselves in front of their crushes. Romantically she's not attached to anyone and prefers it that way, making sure that her friends and family are safe and sound first things first. Her relationship with her dad is a little rocky at best, but they are very close despite his quirks and her terrible language skills when he and her mother uses German and French. However she dearly loves her dad and mom, even if she fights with her mom all the time during webcam calls and the rare occasions when she visits the hometown.
In all, Hibiki is a fairly complex character with many aspects. Not overly deep upon first glance, you can soon discover that when she becomes your friend, she's your friend for life.
Other: Hibiki is part of the Suite Precure, and as such is Yayoi Kise's predecessor. Any interaction between them is strictly hand-woven unless required by event to tag in both side by side upon permission from all parties. She also can't use her powers without transforming with Kanade, but is generally assumed that she can access Super-Tier Powers on her own if need be at the end of the series.

First Person (entry type): So I'm pretty familiar with video conferencing but this takes it to a whole new level. I've got a computer here in the house, so it's not much different than calling Mama over in Paris right now.
So... I hear there's a lot of things to see here. Other worlds, and such. I'm okay with other worlds since I've got a talking cat in my room, but hey, here's hoping that things go okay for everyone.
And uh, I guess if you need help, I can always grab Kanade and we could come and help out. Right? I mean, I'd be letting all of you guys down if I didn't.
Well, I think that's about it for me. I've gotta go jogging. Papa's bound to wake up soon and I don't want him to think I'm turning into a computer person or anything. Laters.
Third Person: Hibiki jogged along the shoreline of Kanon Town, keeping her breathing steady. She was very much one of those people who liked to exercise a lot, and her condition showed it. Still, her mind was on the previous fight, with Kanade almost losing faith in herself.
'Maybe I'm being too hard on her recently...' mused Hibiki to herself as she paused at a cross-walk, waiting for the train to pass by. 'I can't really rely on her as a partner if I keep knocking her down at times. And yet...'
Her cheeks flared a little at the insinuations from the community, that those two were 'together'. Slapping her cheeks, she shook her head. 'No I can't think like that! She's just a friend, really! It's not like I like girls.... right?'
Making her way into town, she continued to run, thinking about her situation. Why? Why was she thinking about this right now? Romance was typically the last thing on her mind and yet everyone said they looked good together. Damn...
